Mental health has been turned into a buffet of nonsense.
You’re told to “practice self-care.” Translation: buy candles.
You’re told to “set boundaries.” Translation: repost quotes you don’t live by.
You’re told to “do the work.” Translation: pay someone to nod while you vent.

The entire industry has shifted from treating illness to manufacturing identity. You’re no longer depressed; you’re “highly sensitive.” You’re not burned out; you’re a “recovering empath.” There’s a diagnosis for every mood swing and a hashtag for every diagnosis.

What no one admits: much of this is theater.

  • Coping is sold as a lifestyle brand.

  • Labels are currency.

  • Therapy has become performance not for healing, but for validation.

Meanwhile, the core problem doesn’t change: most people are desperate to feel special while staying exactly the same. They don’t want change. They want comfort.

The truth?

  • Mental health isn’t a scented bath.

  • Insight isn’t the same as transformation.

  • Most “awareness” is camouflage for avoidance.

If you really want health, strip away the noise. Stop collecting labels. Stop curating your fragility into a brand. Face the fact that life won’t stop cutting and maybe the point isn’t to pad yourself against every blade, but to bleed honestly until you build scar tissue that actually works.
