Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between counseling and consulting?

Counseling is a therapeutic relationship. It’s guided by clinical ethics and structure.
It’s reflective, paced, and focused on internal growth, emotional insight, and long-term change. If you want warmth and emotional support, counseling is the route.

Consulting is different. There’s no therapist-client relationship. No formal diagnosis.
It’s direct, strategic, and outcome-driven.

What if I don’t want therapy — just answers?

Then you don’t need therapy. You need consulting, aka, realignment.

If you're not looking to explore your past or sit in feelings and you just want to understand what the hell is going on and what to do next, consulting is the path.

With consulting:

  • There’s no diagnosis

  • No medical record

  • No therapy-client contract

  • Just clarity, delivered directly, creating motion, leading to alignment

You bring the problem and I dismantle it with you. Whether it’s mental noise, emotional chaos, performance breakdown, or identity friction, we cut to the signal and move. It’s direct and I don’t have to hold back.

What kind of psychologist are you?

I'm an insight-based psychologist. I don’t believe in handing out advice or quick-fix strategies. I believe through focused dialogue and the right kind of challenge, most people already hold the answers they’re searching for, they just need space, precision, and reflection to access them.

My approach is rooted in Western psychological principles, but heavily influenced by Eastern perspectives on balance, harmony, and self-observation. I help clients shift out of guilt, shame, and internal distortion, not by minimizing what’s happening, but by learning to see it from a more stable and truthful place.

Therapy with me is about clarity and alignment over comfort. I value directness, stillness, and depth, but also know when to disrupt what no longer serves.

What can I expect in a session with you?

Expect a conversation between equals.

I’m not above you, and I’m not here to fix you. I ask real questions, sometimes hard ones, but never from judgment.

With time, I want you to see me as a clear, steady presence. Someone you can speak freely with, without editing.

If we’re doing it right, we’ll probably end up laughing. Not because things aren’t serious but because humor cuts through heaviness, breaks tension, and reminds you that you’re still human. Laughter isn’t the goal, but it’s a sign we’ve built something authentic.

I aim to become a kind of tool; a stable point you can reflect off of. A space where you can say the things you usually filter out. I’ll ask the questions, but I expect you to ask me things too. And when you do, I’ll answer honestly, because if I’m asking you to be real, I need to show up that way too.

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with individuals who are navigating internal tension while keeping up external performance. My clients often include:

  • Professionals & entrepreneurs facing burnout, decision fatigue, or imposter strain

  • High-achieving individuals wrestling with pressure, overthinking, or identity shifts

  • High-masking autistic adults who’ve learned to adapt but are ready to drop the mask

  • Creators, founders, and deep thinkers with purpose, intensity, and mental noise

  • Expats & globally mobile professionals balancing ambition with emotional drift

  • Driven individuals working through stress, low mood, internal conflict, or performance disruption — even when things look “fine” on the outside

Whether it’s mental fatigue, identity friction, or low-grade unrest, the goal isn’t just symptom relief, it’s clarity, movement, and internal alignment.

What type of psychological evaluations do you do?

I specialize in one-time psychological evaluations for adults who need documentation for specific goals. These include:

🔹 Pre-Employment & High-Stress Role Clearance

For security officers, first responders, and other safety-sensitive jobs. Evaluates current psychological stability and readiness.

🔹 Return-to-Work / Fitness-for-Duty/ Military Clearance

For individuals returning from medical or mental health leave and people seeking clearance for the military. Assesses whether you're emotionally and cognitively ready to resume professional duties.

🔹 ADHD Evaluations (Adult)

Includes clinical interview, validated screeners, and optional documentation for work, school, or personal clarity.

🔹 VA Mental Health DBQ (Disability Benefits Questionnaire)
For veterans filing or updating VA disability claims. Provides official documentation of symptom severity using standardized screeners—no interview or treatment required.

🔹 Surgical Clearance (Cosmetic / Bariatric)

Required by many surgeons before elective procedures. Evaluates motivation, expectations, and psychological readiness.

🔹 College Disability Accommodations

For students needing documentation to support academic accommodations due to mental health concerns.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. I'm in-network with Aetna and Optum in the states of Florida. I handle all insurance billing directly for in-network clients. I'm considered an Out-of-Network (OON) provider in Colorado, Hawaii and Michigan. Many Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) aka out of network plans reimburse 50–80% after the deductible is met. I provide superbills for possible reimbursement or the client can use Thrizer to automate claims and simplify billing for OON payment. To learn more about Thrizer see my Payment Options page.

How long does a psychological assessment/evaluation usually take?

Most evaluations are completed in a single 60 minute session.
Documentation is typically delivered within 5–7 business days, but sometimes quicker depending on the assessment.
Expedited reports may be available for an additional fee.

Can I use your evaluations for work, school, military or medical purposes?

Yes. My evaluations are structured and formal.
They are accepted by:

  • Employers and HR departments

  • Military documentation reviews

  • Academic institutions (for accommodations)

  • Surgical teams (cosmetic or bariatric)

  • Licensing boards and credentialing bodies

Do I need to provide any records or paperwork before my evaluation?

In most cases, no. However, if you have a complex psychological or medical history, I may request previous records to ensure accuracy and clinical clarity.

For VA DBQ services:
Providing prior mental health records is strongly recommended, as it adds credibility and support to your self-reported symptoms. If no records are provided, this will be noted in the final documentation.
